We decided to kick of the Christmas festivities in our offices this year by hosting a Christmas Market in aid of A Little Lifetime Foundation (ALLF), a charity who support bereaved parents whose baby has died in or around the time of birth. What better way to get into the festive spirit than to shop till your drop while supporting a very worthy cause!
There were fabulous gifts on offer for young and old, from cuddly Teddy Bears for the younger ones, to the stunning ALLF cookbook, beautifully boxed, featuring recipes from several high-profile celebrities including George Bush, Tony Blair and Daniel O’Donnell to name but a few.
It’s somewhat surprising in this digital age, that the tradition of sending Christmas Cards has not abated, as the ALLF Christmas card packs were a big hit at the market. I think we all appreciate when someone goes to the trouble to write to us and the beautifully hand painted ALLF Christmas cards are the perfect way to send someone Christmas wishes.
But it wouldn’t be a Christmas market without some delicious festive goodies to nibble on, and we didn’t disappoint! There were millionaire squares with gooey caramel and chocolatey rice crispy bites, tempting home-made apple chutney, along with the delectable smell of freshly baked and decorated gingerbread.
Thanks to everyone at Acumen and Trust for supporting the Christmas market and raising a fantastic €370 to support the great work of A Little Lifetime Foundation www.alittlelifetime.ie
